Back To Life, Back To Normality …

What a few months it’s been! With so much going on not only have I not been able to post any articles on the blog but I haven’t even been able to practice yoga since the end of December! Boy have I missed it and boy do I need it!

The last few months dealing with the effects of COVID on both my own family and the world around me have drawn so many parallels to how I was feeling a few years ago when I got to a point where I was feeling emotionally and physically drained and yoga stepped in and changed my life.

With things now starting to get back to a bit of normality it’s finally time for me to get back on the mat!

It’s funny, you would think that being at home for months on end would make it easier to practice yoga but I’ve found that being at home has made it a little more challenging. With the lack of routine and familial and household distractions it’s been harder for me to find time to switch off and focus just on me.

Access to online yoga classes have been fab but I’ve found that many a time I’ve booked a class but have then have had to cancel because something else cropped up. Then there are times like yesterday when I finally got round to booking a class, logged on to join that class and then the wifi cut out! Is the universe trying to tell me something here 🙂

I know the onus is on me to make time not just for yoga but for myself and I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that I may have gotten a little complacent recently but that’s all about to change! As the great Jimmy Dean once said “I can’t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination”.
