The Year So Far … A time to reflect …

As summer draws to a close I always find myself reflecting on the months gone by and all the things I said I would and wouldn’t do this year. I don’t really have resolutions that I set out at the beginning of the year but I do have a vision of what I’d like my year to be like.

This year my vision board turned into a bit of a mini novel, as there was so much I wanted to do and achieve this year, both personally and professionally! So, how am I doing so far? To my own surprise I’m doing really well!

Okay, I may not have gone on as many holidays as I wanted to, but there are still four months to go so it’s still possible :). I’m on target with my business goals and everything is looking good for next year’s launch of the Arj n Tara yoga wear range.

I’ve made time for friends and family, which makes me feel good because they often get neglected when life gets busy and you don’t always realize how much you need them until you really need them and I’m so blessed to have such a great family and wonderful friends.

I have to say that after looking at my vision board I felt pretty damn good, so good in fact that I’ve decided to give myself a little ‘reflection’ time every day. A time where I can look back on the events of the day and celebrate all the things that have gone well and acknowledge and try to learn from things that haven’t gone so well.

The great thing about reflection is that there are no hard and fast rules on where or how to reflect.  You can reflect before you go to bed, on the commute to or from work or even while exercising. You can write down your thoughts in a journal, share your thoughts with loved ones or just acknowledge your thoughts internally.

However and wherever you decide to reflect it really does give you the opportunity to focus on you, your work and your life and you’ll be amazed at how much you learn about yourself.
